Ted Brandsen class

Ted Brandsen class

Ted Brandsen (Artistic Director, Dutch National Ballet) and Jonathan Still on piano at International Ballet Masterclasses in Prague 2024.

In the early light of the studio, Ted Brandsen’s class begins with a quiet intensity. Dancers ease into their exercises, each movement guided by Ted’s sharp observations. His corrections are insightful, offering subtle but transformative adjustments that bring clarity and precision to their work.

When the class reaches its peak with grand jetés, the dancers soar with confidence, their technique sharpened by Ted's expert guidance. Each leap becomes not just a movement, but an expression of refined artistry, honed under his careful instruction.

The class then comes to a close with a calming port de bras, where the energy of the morning settles gracefully, and the dancers find a quiet balance, grounding their newfound strength in a final, flowing gesture.

Many thanks to Daria Klimentova for inviting me and to Ian Comer and all the other nice and talented people there. It was a pleasure being there with you all.
